Calling All REC Net Students,
It’s time to celebrate excellence! The Recreation Experience Community Network is excited to introduce a brand-new honor: the University Excellence in Event Programming Award.
This is your opportunity to think outside the box and showcase your creativity. If you’ve developed an innovative event — or already have a program running that you believe truly stands out — now is the time to nominate it.
Let’s recognize the incredible work happening across our community!

University Excellence in Event Programming Award – Students will now have the exciting opportunity to submit a nomination for a special, unique and innovative event program they have created and implemented. This award recognizes student-led initiatives that have:
· Earned special recognition
· Enhanced student satisfaction
· Positively impacted the community or university
· Made it easy to reproduce
· Raised funds for a future REC Net Conference
If you or students you know have developed an outstanding program that has made a meaningful difference, we encourage you to submit a nomination.
Take this opportunity to spotlight the programs that have exemplified outstanding service, innovation, and leadership—both within our Association and in the broader community.
Award recipients will be recognized at the 2026 Annual National Conference, held November 14–17, 2026, at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in Galena, Illinois.
Key Dates:
Award period ends: September 26, 2026
Nomination deadline: Friday, October 2, 2026
*Additionally, your “Excellence in Programming” nomination may be showcased at this year’s national conference! If selected, the Awards Committee will provide presentation guidelines.
